I guess I will understand it better once I get the box. Could a homemade brace be made from an L bracket or something? Are you stating that the orig brace bolted from the clamp to the bottom of the filter box? I feel like this box needs to be mounted as sturdy as possible. Since this is an off road buggy, it gets bounced around by tree roots and rocky trails in the woods. Otto -can you provide a picture of this brace? I suspect it's to reduce the loading on the carb, warped top covers and loose screws for example. They came new with a brace/link between the bolt on the clamp and the rear bolt on the base flange, but not many of those braces are still present. This is going on a rail buggy so that it pulls heat from the exhaust through the flex tube and I'm not sure how to support it.

I thought I saw a picture of the clamp (to the carb) and it looked like it might have had a spot where a support rod attached? I know the base clamps around the carb, but what else supports this giant thing? Looking for information/pictures of a how an orig plastic style air filter box was attached in the engine area.
